Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Prosperous Justice Party (MCC) again maintained its dominance in the provinces of West Sumatra and Depok, West Java Simultaneous regional elections 2020 based on the results of a quick calculation or quick count survey institute.
PKS champion who competed in West Sumatra, Mahyeldi Ansharullah-Audy Joinaldy, won 32.78 percent according to a poll conducted by Poltracking.
These results outperformed rivals who competed in the West Sumatra Pilgub, such as the Nasrul Abit-Indra Catri pair, who got 30.84 percent of the vote in second place.
Then the Mulyadi-Ali Mukni couple got 26.53 percent of the vote. The Fakhrizal-Genius Umar pair is in the best position with 9.85 percent.
The PKS itself will maintain its dominance in the West Sumatra Pilgub if the Mahyeldi-Audy couple is declared the winner by the General Election Commission (KPU). The current Governor of West Sumatra, Irwan Prayitno, is a cadre of the PKS and Governor of Sumber for two terms, from 2010 to 2015 and from 2016 to 2021.
Likewise, the PKS-supported couple in Depok, West Java Muhammad Idris-Imam Budi Hartono also won the quick count version of Pilkada 2020. They were superior to their opponents, namely the Pradi Supriatna-Afifah Alia couple led by the Gerindra coalition , PDI-P, Golkar, PAN, PKB and PSI.
As a result, Depok City has now become synonymous with the PKS ‘cage’ nickname because the party has always managed to win over the candidates it has been supporting since the era of direct elections held in succession.
PKS himself once carried Nur Mahmudi Ismail in the 2005 Depok Pilkada. Nur Mahmudi won the 2005 Pilkada and was re-elected when he advanced in the 2010 Pilkada by cooperating with Mohammad Idris as his running mate.
After that, Mohammad Idris-Pradi, who was again promoted by PKS and won at the Depok Pilkada 2015. Now, PKS has the opportunity to perpetuate his 20-year dominance in the area nicknamed the City of Belimbing if the Idris-Imam couple is determined by the KPU as the winner of the Pilkada 2020.
However, the quick count results by themselves do not represent the official Pilkada 2020 results. This is because the KPU will recap the votes in stages from the TPS, sub-district to regency / city levels as the official Pilkada 2020 results. .
PKS Presidential Chief of Staff Pipin Sopian welcomed the results of the quick count of candidate pairs conducted by PKS in West Sumatra and Depok. Even so, he assures that his party is still waiting for the KPU to officially announce who will be declared the winner of the Pilkada in the two regions.
“There is excitement. But we are not too busy. We are waiting for the results of the KPU to announce who will be elected. For us, the cadres, we are still watching the entire electoral process in the KPU until it is finished,” Pipin said yesterday.
