TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -The Indonesian Police took over the case of shooting between members of the Front of Islamic Defenders or FPI and members of the Bhayangkara Corps.

“Currently, the case has been withdrawn to the National Police Headquarters,” said the head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Headquarters, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, in a written statement on Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

Investigators are currently gathering evidence to explain the shooting between the police and FPI leader Rizieq Shihab’s guard member.

So far, the National Police Forensic Laboratory Center will inspect the car used by the six victims.

“I will search the car and collect CCTV evidence,” Argo said.

Police officers are known to have been involved in a shootout with several FPI soldiers in the Cikampek area on Monday morning, December 7, 2020. Six people died in this shooting incident. Meanwhile, four people are not yet known.
