LIVE – The Central Leadership Council of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) is still working on the bodies of 6 members who were shot to death by police officers to be immediately returned to the family for burial. Now, the bodies of 6 of Habib Rizieq Shihab’s bodyguards are still in the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta.
The FPI has reportedly prepared equipment for the burial of 6 of its members who died. Circulating photos of six shrouds have been prepared at FPI Petamburan headquarters in central Jakarta. “Shroud of the martyrs,” wrote the caption on the circulating photo.
On Monday night, a team of FPI lawyers went to the Police Hospital morgue to collect the bodies of 6 of its deceased members, to be immediately returned to their families and buried. I had an argument with the police on duty because they were not allowed to enter. Efforts to repatriate the bodies have not yet yielded results.
Previously, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Headquarters, emphasized that the police would not prevent the family from taking charge of the bodies of the 6 members of the FPI Special Army who died in the clash on the Karawang Turnpike early Monday morning.
“The police have never prevented or made it difficult for the family to take care of the bodies of the six people who tried to fight the officer,” Inspector General Argo Yuwono said in a written statement on Monday, December 7, 2020.
Argo confirmed that the six bodies of FPI members were at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta for examination. “The body is in the National Police Hospital. The police are conducting an examination of the body to identify the identity of the body,” Argo said.

As is known, the Chief of Police of Metro Jaya, Inspector General Fadil Imran, transmitted the chronology of the attack to 10 supporters of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Habib Rizieq Shihab, against the police. This incident occurred on the KM 50 Jakarta-Cikampek toll road on Monday morning around 00.30 WIB.
At the time, according to Fadil, members of the police were conducting investigative tasks related to the plan to investigate Habib Rizieq that is scheduled for today, December 7, 2020 at 10:00 AM WIB. There was information received by the police that there was a massive mobilization when HRS was being investigated at Polda Metro Jaya.
With respect to this information, Polda Metro Jaya then investigated the veracity of the information. Members of Polda Metro Jaya followed a vehicle suspected of being followers of Habib Rizieq.
Suddenly, the officers’ vehicle was intercepted and then attacked with firearms and weapons sharpened like samurai. As they were attacked, the police officers responded by shooting, killing up to 6 people. Meanwhile, four other Habib Rizieq supporters fled and continued to be persecuted.
Unlike the police version, through its official statement, FPI said that the actual incident was the HRS escort vehicle that was intercepted by an unknown person (OTK), then kidnapped six of the HRS guards; then it was discovered that all six of them died.
Habib Rizieq and his family, including his grandson who is still a young child, will go to the family recitation ceremony at the dawn of the family, while he regains his condition. The location of Habib Rizieq’s whereabouts is still unknown.
“On the way to the family’s Subuh recitation site, the group was intercepted by OTK thugs (whom we strongly suspect were part of a stalking operation and to harm IB),” the statement added.
The general secretary of FPI Munarman denied that there was resistance, much less a shooting as claimed by the police. This is because none of the members are equipped with sharp weapons, much less firearms.
“What you have to know is that it is a great slander if our troops are called carrying arms and shooting with the authorities. We are never equipped with senpi, we are used to empty hands, we are not cowards, “he said.
“This is an extraordinary slander, to reverse the facts saying that the laskar attacked first,” he added. (Ren)
