JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Rizieq Shihab, again did not comply with the summons of the two policemen.

Rizieq is scheduled to be examined as a witness in a case of violation of health protocols at a mass event in Petamburan, central Jakarta, on November 14, 2020.

The second inspection was supposed to take place on Monday.

Previously, he also did not comply with the first police summons on Tuesday of last week.

Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran reminded Rizieq not to mess with the law.

Fadil even made three threats to the FPI leader to come to Polda Metro Jaya.

First, Fadil warned Rizieq to comply with the applicable legal provisions by complying with the police subpoenas.

“We appeal to the MRS (Mohammad Rizieq Shihab) to comply with the law and comply with the investigators’ summons for examination,” Fadil said at the Polda Metro Jaya headquarters on Monday.

Later, Fadil threatened legal action if Rizieq was continuously absent from questioning.

“If the MRS does not comply with the subpoena, our team of investigators will take further steps to enforce the law in accordance with legal provisions,” he said.

Not only did he threaten Rizieq, Fadil also recalled the sympathizers involved.

Fadil reminded Rizieq and his supporters not to obstruct the police investigation into the violation of health protocols at the Rizieq mass event.

Police, Fadil said, will crack down on those who obstruct the investigation and attack the officers.

“Pangdam Jaya and I urge MRS and its supporters not to obstruct the investigation process, as such actions are illegal and punishable,” Fadil said.

“When the act of obstructing staff endangers the safety of our staff, I and Pangdam Jaya will not hesitate to take firm action,” he continued.
