JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Representatives of the families of the 6 bodies of FPI members who were shot and killed by the police, went to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital to collect the bodies this Tuesday morning. This effort was tinged with verbal arguments.

The legal authority of the Islamic Defenders Front or FPI, is involved in a confrontation with a member of the police who is on duty. Because the purpose of his arrival to take the corpse was rejected.

Although there were discussions, FPI’s attorneys and family representatives eventually returned home without taking the body home.

Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran explained that the police conducted an investigation after receiving information that there was a plan to mobilize the masses to escort Rizieq Shihab in connection with the investigation on Monday.

The information is then investigated. The police then followed Rizieq’s followers on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.

But the police effort had a fight.

Rizieq’s followers fought the police with firearms and sharp weapons, for which the police shot dead 6 of the 10 followers of the FPI leader.

The FPI confirmed that the six people who died on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road were members who were escorting Rizieq Shihab’s entourage out of the Megamendung Bogor area, West Java, with 4 cars.

FPI General Secretary Munarman questioned police claims of shooting, because according to Munarwan, FPI troops were not allowed to carry sharp weapons or firearms while guarding Rizieq Shihab.
