Polda Metro Jaya’s Director of General Criminal Investigation, Chief Commissioner Tubagus Ade Hidayat, said the shooting incident started when two cars of Rizieq Shihab sympathizers at KM 50 Cikampek Toll Road stopped at 00.30am. After being trapped, 10 members of the FPI attacked the police car with sharp weapons and firearms.

The policemen who were attacked responded to the fire. Tubagus said no police officers were killed in the incident. However, up to 6 members of the FPI died when penetrated by hot lead. Meanwhile, 4 other people who participated in the attack managed to escape.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Islamic Defenders Front or FPI Munarman said that the shooting of 6 FPI members was a massacre. He denied that it was members of the FPI who started attacking the police.

“It is a massacre, in the language of human rights it is called Extrajudicial Execution. Of course there must be legal responsibility on the part of the party that committed the murder,” Munarman said when contacted.
