JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Former DKI Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, aka Ahok, mocked young people who currently feel like members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.
He considered that these young people had so far enjoyed too great an allowance.
This was broadcast by Ahok through his personal YouTube account, Call Me BTP, which was uploaded on Sunday night (6/12/2020).
In the video, Ahok talks to a member of the PDI-P faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Ima Mahdiah.
Initially, Ahok asked Ima to open questions about her salary and benefits.
Ima, who had an internship at the Jakarta City Council when Ahok was governor, also disclosed her income.
In one month, Ima received a salary and benefits of IDR 108,854,900. After taxes, the total net court fee Ima received was IDR 73,063,500.

Ahok calculated that salary and benefits were still too high. In particular, he highlighted an allocation for housing of 60 million IDR and an allocation for transportation of 21.5 million IDR.
He also poked fun at the young people who had just been appointed members of the Jakarta DPRD for the 2019-2024 term.
“My question is, there are a lot of new young people who will also enter DPRD in 2019. Once they enter, they also enjoy this home and car allowance, right? Was he talking about those great young men? Nothing said? Ahok asked Ima.
Ahok said there should be a principle of suitability in housing and transportation allowances for DPRD members.
Even if official housing is not provided, DPRD members do not need to rent a house that is too large. The same goes for cars, you don’t need to rent something too luxurious.
Ahok assessed that the young people sitting in the DPR seats should have protested against this oversized allocation.
“I want to challenge the young people who have just entered the Council as their generation (Ima), I don’t mind any party. How come you guys for a year? enjoy This unnatural (concession) is secretly huh. He said great, honest, “he said.

Ahok also cited the words of former US President Abraham Lincoln that people generally speak very well when they are not in power. Meanwhile, after coming to power, they fell silent.
He considered Abraham Lincoln’s statement to accurately describe the existence of young people in the DKI DPRD who are just sitting around enjoying such a large budget.
“If I was still governor, don’t dream that you can get this amount of money. I remember you one more time. So once again, this is the opportunity for you to fix it, there is still, including Ima,” Ahok told Ima.
Ahok also admitted that he was angry when he heard the news that he proposed to increase the salaries and allowances of DPRD members next year.
Also, amid the current Covid-19 pandemic, people’s economy is very tough and local incomes have also declined.
“If you want to be champion, you must ask to surrender. I do not force you to ask to go down, but you cannot add,” Ahok said.

Meanwhile, on the occasion, Ima stressed that there was no increase in salaries and benefits for the members of the DKI DPRD.
“Yes Clear There is no salary or subsidies (raise), ”said Ima.
According to Ima, the budget that was increased was only for the activities of the DPR members to go down to the electoral district (dapil) during the recess period.
However, the budget does not go directly to DPR members, but is administered by the DPRD Secretariat.
The increase in salaries and benefits for each member of the DKI DPRD was previously proposed through the budget of the Annual Work Plan 2021 (RKT).
The increase in the RKT will impact the amount of money each DPRD member earns during a fiscal year.
The proposed budget for 2021 RKT reaches 888 billion IDR for 106 members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.
This means that each council member will pocket Rs 8.3 billion a year or Rs 689 million a month if the budget proposal is approved.
