Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Operation Hand-Catching (OTT) carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) from the last week of November 2020 to the first week of December 2020 managed to obtain three cadres from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP). Responding to existing dynamics, PDIP fully supports the various steps taken by the KPK.
The three cadres of the ‘wong cilik’ party captured by the KPK, namely the mayor of Cimahi who is also the chairman of the PDIP Cimahi City DPC Ajay Priatna (November 27, 2020), the regent of Banggai Laut, who also is the President of the DPC PDIP Banggai Laut Wenny Bukamo (December 3), and the Minister of Social Affairs. who is also Deputy General Treasurer of the PDIP Juliari Batubara (December 6).
PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said PDIP respects all ongoing legal processes.
“The law is a form of civilization to defend justice and truth. Anyone is obliged to cooperate with the efforts made by the KPK,” Hasto was quoted as saying on the official PDIP website on Sunday (6/12/2020) .
According to him, the PDIP always reminds cadres who are public officials that power belongs to the people. The party prohibits all forms of abuse of power, including corruption.
“When it comes to this, the president of PDI Perjuangan, Ms. Megawati always instructs cadres who have political positions not to abuse power, not to corrupt. The order of law is mandatory for a clean face of government , free from corruption, “Hasto said.
“In the last three schools for Candidate for Head of Region, PDI Perjuangan always invited KPK speakers on the importance of raising awareness and the spirit of fighting corruption,” he continued.
Hasto also revealed that the PDIP has learned valuable lessons from the various OTT events. The PDIP, according to him, continues to build a systemic and disciplinary corruption prevention system so that events can actually create a deterrent effect.
