The DKI Jakarta provincial government has once again extended the Large Scale Transitional Social Restriction Period (PSBB). The PSBB for the transition period in DKI Jakarta was extended by 14 days.
The extension of the transitional PSBB was conveyed directly by DKI Governor Jakarta Anies Baswedan via a press release from the Jakarta PPID on Sunday (12/6/2020). The extension starts from Monday, December 7 to December 21, 2020.
The decision to extend the transitional PSBB is also set out in the DKI Jakarta Governor’s Decree number 1193 of 2020. The Governor’s Decree regulates the extension of the period of large-scale social restriction during the transition period towards a healthy, safe society and productive.
“Based on the assessment of BNPB and FKM UI, we decided to extend the PSBB Transition Period until December 21, 2020. The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta will continue to strive for various COVID-19 control indicators to continue to improve through the application of legal rules for 3M violations and conducting massive 3T activities. We remind you that there is an emergency braking policy if epidemiological indicators show that the COVID-19 outbreak in DKI Jakarta is getting out of control. Therefore, we hope that the public will continue to be disciplined in the application of health protocols, “Anies said in a written statement on Sunday (12/6/2020).
The current COVID-19 condition in Jakarta continues to rise. To date, positive COVID-19 cases in DKI Jakarta have reached 143,961. Of these, 130,043 of them have recovered and 2,801 people died.
