Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – The distribution of the wage subsidy or the second-term wage assistance program for workers with a maximum salary of Rp5 million will enter the sixth stage. As for the amount of assistance that will be given to workers in this second period, it is Rp1.2 million.
This figure is an additional salary for the period November-December 2020 of the total subsidized assistance provided by the government for 4 months, each of which amounts to IDR 600,000 per month.
The Ministry of Manpower will immediately distribute the wage subsidy for the second period of the sixth phase to approximately 1.34 million beneficiaries. If we reflect on the distribution pattern in the previous stages, which took about a week, the subsidy was supposed to be disbursed this week.
However, so far the Ministry of Manpower has not published official information on the disbursement. Labor Minister Ida Fauziyah transmitted the latest batch of wage subsidies that had been awarded to 567,723 workers.
“The government is redirecting lot V wage subsidy assistance for the second term to 567.723 million employees,” he said, on Wednesday (11/25/2020).
With the distribution of the second-period wage subsidy for the second period at the end of November, the realization of the second-period wage subsidy distribution has touched around 11,052 million beneficiaries out of a total of 12.4 million.
For information, in stage I the Ministry of Labor channeled wage subsidies to 2,180,382 workers, stage II to 2,713,434 workers, stage III to 3,149,031 workers, stage IV to 2,442,289 workers and stage V to 567,723 million of workers.
“This BSU distribution, of course, will be processed by the State Treasury Service Office. [KPPN] to the channel bank, which will then be transferred to the account of the recipient, both Himbara and non-Himbara, “said Ida.
He added that, according to a study conducted by Barenbang of the Labor Ministry, wage subsidies have a positive impact on household consumption and economic growth.
In other words, he admits that wage subsidies for workers earning less than Rs 5 crore a month have been shown to boost household consumption, which in turn can contribute to higher economic growth.
As is known, the government provides assistance with wage subsidies to workers who meet the criteria of the Ministry of Labor Regulation (Permenaker) Number 14 of 2020.
The criteria include Indonesian Citizens (WNI), active participation in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan until June 30, 2020, including NIK, having an active account and receiving salaries below 5 million IDR.
