JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The number of patients who have contracted Covid-19 in Indonesia continues to grow.
According to data compiled by the government, as of Saturday (5/12/2020) shows that there was an addition of 6,027 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
The addition has brought the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia now to 569,707 people, as of the announcement of the first patient on March 2, 2020.
This information was transmitted by the Covid-19 Management Working Group through data received by journalists on Saturday afternoon.
The public can also access the data through the Covid19.go.id and Kemkes.go.id sites, and updates appear every evening.

The patient recovered and died
Despite the addition of new positive Covid-19 cases, the government also reported that there were additional patients recovering from Covid-19.
In the same data, there were an additional 4,271 Covid-19 patients who had recovered and were deemed to no longer have the corona virus.
They were declared cured based on laboratory tests using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method, which was negative for the corona virus.
Therefore, the total number of Covid-19 patients who have recovered to date is 470,449 since the start of the pandemic.
However, the sad news is still present with the incorporation of patients with Covid-19 who have died.

In the past 24 hours, 110 people have died after testing positive for the corona virus.
Hence, the Covid-19 death rate in Indonesia was recorded at 17,589 people.
With this data update, there are now 81,669 active cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia.
Active cases are the number of Covid-19 positive patients who are still in treatment in hospitals or in independent isolation.
Apart from the positive cases, the government also registered 69,926 people who are now suspects.
