Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Positive case corona virus (Covid-19) increased by 6,027 people today, Saturday (5/12). Thus, the total number of positive Covid-19 cases in Indonesia since the first patient was revealed in early March has reached 569,707 people.
Of these, 470,449 people (increased by 4,271) were declared cured and 17,589 patients died (an increase of 110).
The data was collected by the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) until 12.00 WIB and sent through the official website around 15.30 WIB.
The Health Ministry noted that 69,926 people were suspected of having Covid-19 across Indonesia. In addition, 54,922 specimens were examined.
Yesterday, there were 563,680 positive cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia. Of these, 466,178 people were declared cured and 17,479 died.
DKI Jakarta is the province with the highest number of positive cases, namely 141,270 people as of December 4. Followed by East Java 63,901 people, Central Java 59,228 people, West Java 56,799 people and South Sulawesi 21,237 people.
The spread of positive Covid-19 cases is feared to increase this month. There are two national agendas that have the potential to transmit the corona virus.
The first is the Pilkada 2020 vote on December 9 and the second is the long Christmas and New Year holidays 2021.
Previously, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that the death rate from Covid-19 in Indonesia was still high. The report is the result of a WHO analysis from 23 to 29 November.
According to this report, the incidence of Covid-19 deaths in Indonesia is 0.34 per 100,000 inhabitants, or if you use a percentage, it is 3.4 percent of Covid-19 deaths.
Meanwhile, by WHO standards, the global death rate is 2.39 percent. This means that the Covid-19 death rate in Indonesia is still higher than the world average.
The report also noted that Indonesia only reported data on deaths in confirmed Covid-19 patients. This differs from the standard and calculation of mortality data in the WHO guidelines.
If you follow the WHO guidelines, deaths in suspected patients or patients with symptoms of Covid-19, even if they have not been confirmed as positive, should be reported in the daily mortality data.
