jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Investigators from the Cyber ​​Crimes Directorate of the National Criminal Police arrested Soni Eranata (28) or who is familiarly called Ustaz Maaher At-Thuwailibi in the case of alleged hate speech on social networks Twitter.

Ustaz Maaher was arrested at his residence in Kelurahan Kedung Badak, Tanah Grain District, Bogor City, West Java, on Thursday (3/12) at 04.00 AM WIB.

The head of the Divhumas National Police Public Information Office, Brigadier General Pol Awi Setiyono, confirmed that the arrest of Maaher At-Thuwailibi was carried out according to procedure.

“According to the arrest procedure,” Awi said at the Police Criminal Investigation Bureau, Jakarta, on Thursday (12/13), responding to the suspect’s lawyer who said that Soni Eranata’s arrest was irregular and discriminated against.

Brigadier General Awi asked the parties to object to file a pre-trial lawsuit.

“If you want to be tested, go to court,” he said.

Awi added that during the arrest process, there was no resistance from the suspect.

“There is no (resistance),” he said.
