BOGOR, KOMPAS.com – Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto forcibly shut down the operations of a private bank in Jalan Ciheuleut, Baranangsiang, Bogor City, West Java, following the discovery of an alleged violation of Covid-19 prevention on Thursday ( 03/12/2020).
Bima said the bank still chose to operate even though five of its employees were confirmed positive for Covid-19.
Therefore, he immediately ordered the Bogor City Covid-19 Task Force team to temporarily shut down the bank’s operations and spray disinfectants there.
“All five people (employees) tested positive in late November 2020 and the company did not report the findings to the Bogor City Task Force. I strongly reprimanded it,” Bima said.

Bima said that employees who tested positive for Covid-19 at the bank were employees who worked at back office.
According to reports he received, two people have been declared cured, while three others remain in isolation.
Still, Bima deeply regretted the bank that adopted the policy of continuing to operate and did not follow up on close contacts.

“We are talking about human lives. Everything was closed, the hospital and the City Hall were also closed,” he said.
It revealed that offices are an area prone to the spread of Covid-19. Therefore, there must be coordination and communication.
“If the bank ignores the strong warning, it could be that according to the law and Perwali, it could result in fines and penalties,” Bima concluded.
