Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that it has received clinical trial data for the Covid-19 vaccine from Pfizer / BioNTech and is reviewing its report for the WHO’s “list of possible emergency uses.”
The vaccines included in WHO emergency use will be a benchmark for countries to validate their users at the national level.
The UK has become the first country in the world to allow emergency use of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine and it will go on sale next week.
“The WHO is also in discussions with the MHRA (BPOM UK) about the possibility of accessing some of their information and assessments, which may speed up the WHO emergency list,” said Mike Ryan, WHO executive, Quoted by Reuters, on Thursday (3/12/2020).
Mike Ryan said that the Pfizer / BioNTech permission was good news for the world in solving the Covid-19 pandemic on Earth. But the world now needs 3 to 4 vaccines.
“We need to increase production, we need to reduce prices. We need a dose of vaccine,” he explained.
