“We inform the president that he is pleased to appoint the Minister of Agriculture to replace the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment as Acting Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries,” wrote a letter signed by Secretary of State Pratikno.

Luhut himself and Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir are currently on a working visit to Japan to discuss Indonesia’s plan to establish Sovereign wealth fund (SWF) or known as Nusantara Investment Authority (NIA).

According to the plan, Luhut and Erick are scheduled to meet with various officials from the Ministry of Economy (METI) and various financial institutions in Japan, including the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).
