Barcelona passed without difficulty the fifth matchday of the first part of the Champions League Group G matchday. The blaugrana led Ferencvaros 3-0.
Barcelona appears without Lionel Messi against Ferencvaros at the Puskas Arena. Despite the lack of La Pulga, Barcelona were able to directly disrupt the opponent’s defense after a shot from close range by Martin Braithwaite almost resulted in a goal.
Barcelona’s attempt to steal the first goal against Ferencvaros paid off in the 14th minute. With a low cross from Jordi Alba, Griezmann managed to trick the ball and cross between the legs of goalkeeper Denes Dibusz before entering the net.
Barcelona kept pushing through its crosses. As a result, the second goal came in the 21st minute after Braithwaite successfully duped a cross from Ousmane Dembele.
Ferencvaros tried to counterattack after being two goals behind. The home team tried several times to put pressure on the right side of the Barça defense, but none of them posed a significant threat.
In fact, Barcelona received a penalty after Braithwaite was violated by Abraham Frimpong. Dembélé took the lead and his shot gave Barcelona a 3-0 lead in the 28th minute.
Braithwaite threatened Ferencvaros’ goal in the 36th minute. Dibusz pushed the ball from the right side of the area.
The home team still couldn’t do much in the first half. On the other hand, Barcelona knew how to control the course of the game and maintain the advantage of three until the break.
