President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appoint the Minister of Agriculture (Minister) Syahrul Yasin Limpo as Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ad Interim. Syahrul temporarily replaced the position of Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments Luhut Binsar Panjaitan.
The Minister of State (Mensesneg) Pratikno revealed that Jokowi appointed Syahrul due to the letter of the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments number B-3863 / MARVES / MARITIM / RT.01.00 / XI / 2020 dated November 22, 2020. In the letter, Luhut asked permission to visit to work abroad.
“In essence, (Luhut) asked the president for permission to make an official trip abroad from December 2 to 10, 2020,” Pratikno said on Wednesday (12/2).
The appointment of Syahrul as Acting Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries is indicated in the Letter of the Minister of State Secretary Number B-918 / M.Sesneg / D-3 / AN.00.03 / 12/2020 dated December 2, 2020. The letter was addressed to Syahrul.
“We respectfully inform you that the President (Jokowi) is pleased to appoint the Minister of Agriculture to replace the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment as Acting Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries,” explained Pratikno.
Meanwhile, the secretary general of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), Antam Novambar, confirmed the information that Luhut made a working visit from December 2 to 10, 2020. “He (Luhut) went to LN (in the foreigner), “Antam said.
It is known that the former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo resigned on Thursday (11/26). Edhy resigned because he was caught in a case of alleged corruption in the export of lobster seeds.
Edhy reopened the lobster seed export policy from May 2020. Previously, this policy was prohibited when Susi Pudjiastuti served as Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
