Investigator Polda Metro Jaya finished filing the second subpoena for Rizieq Shihab at his residence on Tuesday (02/12) after being intercepted several times. The effort to present the subpoena is known to involve dozens of Brimob personnel.
Surveillance CNNIndonesia.com, up to three investigators “managed” to enter the Rizieq residence with the escort of dozens of Brimob personnel waiting at the end of Jalan Petamburan III, 20 meters from the residence of the FPI high priest.
“Yes, we have (filed a subpoena),” one of the investigators said when he left Rizieq’s residence.
As previously reported, efforts by Polda Metro Jaya investigators to deliver Rizieq’s subpoena were intercepted twice. The objections of the neighbors colored the presence of the agents. Not only were the police expelled, several FPI Laskar Masses were also held against journalists.
The head of the Public Information Office of the National Police (Karopenmas), Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, emphasized that there are sanctions for this obstruction.
“Of course there are sanctions, I say we are a rule of law,” Awi told reporters at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, on Wednesday (12/2).
“I think the public should also know that we must obey the laws of anyone, there is no exception,” he added.
Rizieq Shihab has been summoned by Polda Metro Jaya regarding the crowd event of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday on Saturday (11/14). Rizieq should have been questioned on Monday (1/12), but did not attend. Rizieq’s absence prompted the police to issue another summons today.
In addition to Rizieq, Polda Metro Jaya also summoned various people related to the crowd. Among them are the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, and Lurah Petamburan Setianto. Rizieq’s second exam is known to be scheduled for Monday, December 7, 2020.
