Bogor –
The President of the Presidium of the MER-C, Dr. Sarbini Abdul Murad, stated that the results of the Habib Rizieq Shihab swab were out. The results, MER-C said, are confidential.
“The result is a secret. It is done,” Sarbini said when confirmed about the results of Habib Rizieq’s swab before undergoing a police summons at Bogor Police, Jalan Kapten Muslihat, Central Bogor, Bogor City, West Java , on Monday (11/30/2020).
Sarbini said the Habib Rizieq swab test was done when Habib Rizieq was hospitalized. Notably, Habib Rizieq underwent treatment at Bogor UMMI Hospital.
“At the hospital,” he said.
The coordinating minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud Md, previously said that the MER-C did not have the authority or a laboratory for swab testing. Sarbini admitted that MER-C does not have a laboratory. So where were the Habib Rizieq swab samples taken?
“Mer-C does not have a laboratory. That is clear, yes, clear. Nobody says that MER-C has a laboratory, we do not,” Sarbini said.
“It’s a secret,” Sarbini said, confirming the Habib Rizieq swab testing lab.
The government emphasized that MER-C does not have the authority to test for COVID-19. Habib Rizieq was treated at the UMMI Hospital since last Wednesday (11/25) and left the UMMI Hospital on Saturday (11/28) last night. Rizieq was tested by MER-C on Friday (11/27) afternoon. The MER-C test was controversial because it was carried out without coordination with the Bogor City COVID-19 Task Force.
“The MER-C does not have a laboratory and is not registered in a network that has the authority to carry out tests,” said the coordinating minister of Political, Legal and Human Rights, Mahfud Md, in a live broadcast through the YouTube channel BNPB RI, Sunday (10/29/2020) night.
