An independent medical team managing the leaders of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab, MER-C criticized the treatment of the mayor of Bogor Bima Arya which are considered to be involved in medical treatment and are unethical.
The statement referred to Bima’s action stating that he would go to Ummi Hospital if Rizieq refused to be reprimanded, and revealed the high priest’s medical condition in the FPI circle.
“The MER-C sent him to rest in the hospital. However, he received less ethical treatment and violated patient rights by the mayor of Bogor by intervening with the medical team that was working, thus disturbing patients who were in repose “, said the president of the Presidium of the MER-C, Sarbini. Abdul Murad in a written statement, Sunday (11/29).
“The mayor of Bogor is also unethical in publishing the patient’s condition to the public, causing confusion and unrest in the community,” he continued.
Sarbini said that Bima needs to study medical ethics, where the medical team must respect the patient’s right to accept or refuse examination and treatment without intervention or pressure from the public.
He asked the man who is also the Head of the Bogor Covid-19 Management Working Group to entrust the handling of Rizieq to the hospital and the medical team who know the necessary and unnecessary steps.
“Currently, all the controls that must be carried out are in progress and the treatment will be carried out according to the health problems found,” he said.
Sarbini added that Rizieq’s family is the party authorized to transmit the health conditions. In fact, he continued, this authority does not belong to hospitals or doctors either.
Previously, Bima Arya revealed that Rizieq was being treated at Ummi Hospital due to fatigue. His party also heard the news that the leader of the organization refused to be hyssop.
“The city of Bogor is my area of work. Therefore, I will go to the hospital to ask for clarification on why I refused. [diswab]”he said on Friday (11/27).
FPI Undersecretary General Aziz Yanuar said Rizieq had to be hospitalized for fatigue after performing a series of da’wah after returning from Saudi Arabia.
