TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The coordinating minister for Maritime Affairs and Investments, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, did not comment much on the legal process currently being carried out by the former Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Edhy Prabowo. Luhut, who is now the Ad Interim Minister replacing Edhy, presented the legal process to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
“Ask the KPK,” Luhut said after meeting with KKP officials at the KKP building, Gambir, Central Jakarta on Friday, November 27, 2020. But Luhut expects the KPK to carry out an investigation in this case according to existing provisions.
“Don’t overdo it, I’ll quit. Not everyone is bad, a lot of people are good,” he said. However, Luhut did not elaborate on what he intended to ask the KPK not to overdo it.
Previously, the KPK named Edhy as a suspect for alleged corruption in the form of receiving gifts or promises from state officials related to permits for ponds, businesses and / or management of fisheries or other similar marine products.
Apart from Edhy, there are six people named as suspects. “The KPK has named 7 suspects,” KPK Vice President Nawawi Pomolango said during a press conference in his office on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.
Nawawi said Edhy Prabowo was named the suspect who received the joint award or pledge with SAF, APM, SWD, AF and AM. Meanwhile, the suspect who made the gift was Suharjito, director of PT DPP.
