Dozens of mothers Surabaya held a demonstration of support for the mayor of Surabaya Tri Rismaharini at the Surabaya City Hall, Friday (11/27). The action was carried out after the circulation of the video ‘Destruye a Risma’ on social networks.
In their action, they criticized a group of people who shouted ‘destroy Risma’. They also call it the bully perpetrators.
“Thuggery is outdated. Making fun of a mother [Risma] it’s like destroying your mother, ”said Action Coordinator Renny Anjani.
The group of women and girls criticized the previous action that cornered Risma. According to them, the group was uncivilized.
“His speech shows his unworthiness as a worthy citizen of the city,” Renny said.
Renny said that Risma has contributed to the development of the city of Surabaya for the past 10 years. Therefore, Renny and his friends expressed their support for Risma.
Previously, a 19-second video showing multiple people chanting ‘destroy Risma’ or the mayor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini, went viral on social media.
Several people in the video appear to be wearing colorful T-shirts bearing the images of the mayoral candidate and the serial number 2 of the Surabaya mayoralty, Machfud Arifin-Mujiaman Sukirno. They also raised two fingers.
“Destroy, destroy, destroy Risma, destroy Risma right now. Destroy, destroy, destroy Risma, destroy Risma right now,” they yelled.
In the video, you can also see Mat Mochtar, a senior PDIP cadre who has been fired because he is deemed not to obey the decision of the PDIP DPP president, Megawati Soekarnoputri. Mat Mochtar refuses to support Eri Cahyadi-Armuji.
Several people were seen wearing black T-shirts with the image of a red bull’s head. They are volunteers for Banteng Ketaton, whose members are former PDIP cadres who also refuse to submit to their party’s decisions.
Not only that, behind them, there is also a background showing an image of the Machfud 2 candidate couple, Arifin-Mujiaman Sukirno.
Risma’s son, Fuad Bernardi, admitted that he was sad and disappointed after the circulation of a video of a group of people shouting ‘Destroy Risma’.
