Polda West Papua 36 people were arrested in the Manokwari and Sorong city areas manifestation in commemoration of the birthday of the West Papua New Guinea National Congress (WPNGNC).
West Papua Regional Police Chief of Public Relations AKBP Adam Erwindi said the police were requesting information from those arrested.

He asked those who carried out the demonstration to pay attention to the security and order situation in the community. He also recalled that any act of transmission of aspirations can be in accordance with the procedures regulated by law.
“If it does not comply with the above, then the police according to the mandate of the law are obliged to disband,” he said.
For information, at least two members of the West Papua Regional Police Mobile Brigade were injured as a result of being struck by stones when disrupting the action.
