DIY NEWS – The Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises indicated that the Presidential Assistance or Proposal for Productive Microenterprises (BPUM) has been distributed to 9.7 million MSMEs in Indonesia.

This amount represents 81.19 percent of the total quota of recipients, that is, 12.4 million MSMEs. The funds that have been distributed amount to 23.4 billion IDR.

UMKM assistance is provided in the amount of IDR 2.4 million to eligible microentrepreneurs. Until the end of 2020, the government still opens opportunities for 3 million business actors to obtain Productive Banpres for Microenterprises.

The program was launched by the government so that microentrepreneurs can continue to operate their businesses in the midst of a crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Teten said that according to the results of the rapid survey of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the most necessary policy for micro-enterprises during the Covid-19 pandemic was interest-free loans and guarantees, that is, 91.8 percent. of the micro-enterprises and 89.5 percent of the MSMEs needed subsidies. .

“For microenterprise actors such as farmers, fishermen or farmers who have not yet accessed bank financing, they can access it,” Teten said.
