Initially, Attorney General (JPU) Sophan asked Napoleon about his early relationship with Tommy Sumardi. Napoleon also said that he met Tommy in early April 2020. At that time, Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo introduced him as the head of the Supervisory Office for the Supervision of PPNS, Bareskrim Polri.

“He (Prasetijo) came to my office on the 11th floor of TNCC along with the defendant (Tommy). His aim and purpose was to introduce me to the defendant. Then, after being introduced not long at that time, the defendant told the general Brigadier Prasetijo, please come out a star. From this room a three-star business, so Brigadier Prasetijo waited in my room in Sespri, so I was in the room with the accused, at that time the defendant explained intent and purpose, to ask for help to verify status red notice Djoko Tjandra, “Napoleon explained.

After being left alone with Tommy, Napoleon also asked Tommy about the relationship between Tommy and Djoko Tjandra. This is because Tommy is not Djoko Tjandra’s brother, family, or lawyer. Tommy told Napoleon that he was friends with Djoko Tjandra.

Napoleon admitted that he was not really sure of Tommy’s explanation. To convince Napoleon, Tommy also brought up Kabareskrim’s name, Komjen Listiyo Sigit.

Then he told me, said the defendant, this is not my language, but the defendant’s language for me, telling me how close I was, that I was with the blessing of the Chief of Criminal Investigation of the Police. Do you need to call him? It is not necessary. But I’m sure if they bring a police brigadier Prasetijo Utomo from Bareskrim to my office, it must be true, “Napoleon said.

“But I couldn’t easily believe it again and then I saw my face of disbelief. The defendant called someone. After connecting, the defendant seemed to want to give me his phone number. I said who do you want to call me?” Napoleon continued.

“The defendant said ‘Bang Aziz’, Aziz who? ‘Azis Syamsuddin’. Oh Vice President of DPR RI? Yes. Because when I was still a Pamen I knew him, so I continued, ‘Asalamualaikum, good afternoon Pak Aziz, Hey brother, how are you? Pak Aziz, I tell you, here in front of me is Pak Hajj Tommy Sumardi. In order to check the status red notice. Please directions and directions, sir. Go ahead, Mr. Napoleon. Good’. Then the phone closed, I handed it back to him. Using the defendant’s cell phone number, “Napoleon explained.

“So, to be honest, I first saw the arrival of Brigadier General Prasetijo accompanying Mr. Tommy to greet me, there must be something. And it is true that the defendant told me many things about his closeness to the Chief of Criminal Investigation and Police”, Napoleon said.

Upon hearing Napoleon’s narrative, the prosecutor also wanted to ask about his relationship with Djoko Tjandra. However, Napoleon still wanted to continue explaining Tommy’s story, which eventually made him believe in Tommy’s closeness to Kabareskrim.

“This witness is related to Djoko Tjandra,” interrupted the prosecutor.

“Please take the time for the prosecutor to continue a little longer.
Including telling how he became the executive coordinator of six public soup kitchens run by the Chief of the Criminal Investigation Police, spread over six points in the cities of Jakarta, Menteng, Tanah Abang, and various positions. So I became more understanding, but at the time I said this, if you want to check red notice Djoko Tjandra, I don’t have a strong position, “Napoleon explained.
