REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The head of the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) of Tanah Abang Sukana was relieved of his additional duties as head of the KUA. Subsequently, Sukana was transferred as a leader in central Jakarta.
“As of today, Sukana will no longer have the additional mandate as head of the KUA. Sukana was transferred as leader in the Ministry of Religion, Central Jakarta,” explained the Director General of Orientation of the Islamic Community, Kamaruddin Amin, in his official statement in Jakarta on Monday (11/23).
“This decision is in line with the commitment of the Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi that the great family of the Ministry of Religion must be strict in the implementation of health protocols to avoid the transmission of Covid-19 in the provision of services,” he continued .
According to Kamaruddin, this decision was made after the General Inspectorate of the Ministry of Religion carried out an investigation process. The head of KUA Tanah Abang is considered to have ignored the provisions related to health protocols when undertaking the task of registering the marriage of Muhamad Irfan and Najwa Syihab in Petamburan on November 14, 2020. In fact, the implementation of the protocol of Health is clearly regulated in the Circular of the Director General of Guidance of the Islamic Community of the Ministry of Religion Number: P-006 / DJ.III / Hk.00.7 / 06/2020 dated June 10, 2020 in relation to marriage services towards a safe productive society for covid.
Previously, the Ministry of Religion had also transferred the Head of the Jombang Ministry of Religion Office by Decree of the Minister of Religion No. 032232 / B.II / 3/2020 of October 26. This disciplinary sanction came after the Head of Kankemenag Jombang held a wedding party that sparked a crowd on October 4, 2020.
Kamaruddin Amin emphasized that the direction of the Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi was very clear. Under any circumstance, every official of the Ministry of Religious Affairs should endeavor to enforce health protocols for the safety of the public.
“The direction of the Minister of Religion is firm and clear. If it is not implemented, firm action will definitely be taken because it can endanger many people in that place and it will also endanger children and their families in the home when the virus enters the house, “said Kamaruddin Amin.
