Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan claiming the conditions for the spread of corona virus cases (COVID-19) in the capital city is still under control and towards security during the implementation of Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) Transition that went into effect during the previous two weeks or from November 9 to November 22 yesterday.

However, Anies stated that his party would not hesitate to apply the emergency brake by tightening the PSBB again should cases experience another spike in Jakarta.

“The provincial government of DKI Jakarta may implement an emergency braking policy or emergency brake policy if there is a significant increase in cases or an alarming transmission rate that endangers the services of the health system, ”Anies said in a written statement. CNNIndonesia.com from ppid.jakarta.go.id page, Monday (11/23).

Anies asked that the current condition, which is still under control, does not necessarily cause residents to be careless when implementing 3M’s health protocol, which includes wearing masks, washing hands and keeping their distance.

Referring to the data on the distribution of covid-19 in DKI Jakarta through the page https://corona.jakarta.go.id/id/data-pemantau, it has been observed that during the last two weeks the spread of Covid-19 in Jakarta has fluctuated and even had the highest case record by comparison. previous daily cases during the eight months of this pandemic.

In detail, on November 9 there was an increase in daily cases of Covid-19 by 716 cases, then on November 10 it increased to 1,013 cases and on November 11 it experienced a decrease in daily cases to 587 cases. Then on November 12 there was another increase to 831 cases per day, then on November 13 it increased again to 1,033 cases, and it rose again on November 14 to 1,255 daily cases.

In addition, on November 15 the cases continued to increase to 1,165 positive cases, then on November 16 it fell to 1,006 cases, and on November 17 the cases increased slightly to 1,038 positive cases.

Covid-19 positive daily cases then increased on November 18 with 1,137 cases, 1,185 on November 19, 1,240 cases on November 20, 1,579 cases on November 21, and on November 22 they decreased to 1,342 daily positive cases.

Responding to the increase in cases in the last week, the Provincial Government of DKI explained the status of the bed occupancy rate (BOR) in a total of 98 reference hospitals for patients infected by the corona virus in the capital, rising to 73 percent in the last two weeks.

Meanwhile, bed capacity for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has reached 70 percent, or up to 591 beds have been filled out of the maximum capacity of 841 beds.

Furthermore, 3M’s behavior to prevent Covid-19 transmission due to corona virus infection in Jakarta has tended to decline in the last week.

“Based on the FKM UI data, we see stagnation and even a decline in community discipline on 3M’s behavior. The data is in line with the data on the daily increase in cases at DKI Jakarta,” Anies said.

The epidemiologist at the Faculty of Public Health of the University of Indonesia (FKM UI) Ascobat Gani urged the provincial government of DKI Jakarta to return to a strict PSBB to avoid an increase in Covid-19 cases in the capital city.

This should be implemented considering that in recent weeks there have been crowds of people who have the potential to transmit the corona virus, including the events that lifted Rizieq Shihab in Tebet and Petamburan.

Gani predicts an increase in positive Covid-19 cases in Jakarta due to crowds at events Rizieq attended that took place in various locations. The increase in Covid-19 cases began to occur in early December 2020.

“We will only wait 15 days, in a week or so it will increase. Therefore (PSBB) should be adjusted,” Gani said when contacted by CNNIndonesia.com on Monday (11/23).

The DKI Jakarta provincial government has once again extended the transitional PSBB for 14 days, from November 23 to December 6, 2020 as a precaution against an increase in Covid-19 cases.

The extension of the PSBB for the Transition Period is based on the Decree of the Governor of the province of DKI Jakarta Number 1100 of 2020 confirming that if there is no significant increase in Covid-19 cases, the Transition PSBB will be automatically extended. For two weeks.
