The statement by Pangdam Jaya, Major General Dudung Abdurachman, on the “dissolution of the FPI” is in the spotlight. The vice chairman of the DPR Commission I of the PKS faction, Abdul Kharis Almasyhari, highlighted the main tasks (tupoksi) of the army.

“I do not understand this because the army does not have that task, the main task is not the army, it is the domain of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and (or) the Ministry of the Interior if they dissolve the mass organizations,” said the vice president of Commission I of the DPR of the PKS Abdul Kharis Almasyhari faction when contacted on Friday (11/20/2020).

According to him, Indonesia is a rule of law, which is why it has been regulated who has the right to dissolve mass organizations. However, he believes that this is not the task of the army.

“But the truth is that it is not the army that has the right to dissolve the mass organizations, let us not continue taking steps separately, this country will be in chaos if we take individual steps,” Abdul said.

Abdul also commented on the removal of a number of billboards and banners by Habib Rizieq Syihab (HRS). Abdul assessed that the reduction of banners and billboards was the authority of PP Satpol, not the army.

“The billboards are part of Satpol PP, which is Satpol PP’s business. For example, it is fine if the military is involved but its nature is to ask for help,” he said.

“For example, Satpol PP does not have the courage to lower the army’s guard. But Satpol PP is not the soldier who works, but Satpol PP is watching,” he added.
