jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) politician Henry Yosodiningrat has warned DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan not to grant permission to implement Meeting 212 on December 2, 2020 in the National Monument area (Monas), in central Jakarta.

Henry realized that Reunion 212 was part of broadcasting aspirations in public. However, the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic did not allow mass concentration activities to take place.

“I ask the provincial government of DKI Jakarta to be firm in not giving permission, although protesting is a citizen’s right,” Henry said in his brief message to the media on Tuesday (11/17).

However, Henry continued, in exercising that right it is also necessary to remember that the supreme law is human salvation.

“So don’t destroy the peace of this nation, this society,” Henry continued.

He also called on the elements of the masses who were to hold the 212 Meeting to exercise restraint. The reason is that this activity has the potential to present a crowd and is dangerous in relation to the prevention of Covid-19.

“How can we guarantee that the distance between thousands of people will be maintained? So do not allow this to result in a group of those people after the meeting,” he said.

Previously, the Head of the Information Services Section of the Monas Area Management Unit (UPK), Irfal Guci, confirmed that the 212 Alumni Brotherhood had written to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, regarding the celebration of a meeting in the Monas area. The letter was sent since last September 2020.
