Crowded entrepreneurs ask Anies to revoke PSBB transition in DKI

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) called for the immediate lifting of large-scale transitional social restrictions (PSBB). The reason is that the business world has been very miserable due to the politics of PSBB, especially in Jakarta, which was under Governor Anies Baswedan.

Apindo assesses that PSBB’s policy has resulted in a decrease in revenues from the industrial sector due to local taxes. The corporate sector has had to survive by not laying off employees, assuming business expenses, assuming “new normal costs” and restructuring finances to survive.

“We ask the Governor of DKI Jakarta to revoke the transitional PSBB which ends on November 22. Therefore, this transitional PSBB must be stopped and returned to normal conditions so that all tourism sector activities are carried out normally for there are no restrictions on capacity and hours of operation, “said the president general. Apindo Hariyadi Sukamdani, Monday (11/16/2020).

He said that there was great pressure on the business world that could no longer be contained. However, this also cannot be done to help the corporate world at a time like this. Apart from that, the stimulus that was disbursed did not have a major impact on the business world. These become very heavy and cumbersome contractions.

Hariyadi emphasized that the national tourism industry association is committed to continuing to implement the applicable health protocol.

“In our sector, we will implement the protocol even if it is under normal conditions. That is why we are committed to protecting our consumers but we only want the transitional PSBB to end,” he said.

Awareness to be addressed

The VIWI Board, as an association of 18 tourism industry associations, has called for the large-scale social restrictions of DKI Jakarta (PSBB) to be lifted.

“We have seen the peak yesterday, a lot of people are not disciplined, we find it difficult as the real sector is limited by all kinds, it has a bad impact on the economy,” said Hariyadi.

Hariyadi said the PSBB total up to the PSBB transition had taken place, but public awareness of the dangers of spreading the Covid-19 virus was still very low. It is feared that this will have an impact on the economy and cause PSBB to return if there is an increase in the Covid-19 case.

On the one hand, in particular the tourism services sector and its associates have obeyed all the protocols and regulations that were enforced to reduce the rate of spread of the virus.

“DKI Jakarta is a barometer of the Indonesian economy. So if the PSBB in DKI has a national impact. So the trend is that if there are massive violations, the cases will continue to increase, monitoring from hospitals and clinics is observed. If the cases increase, our economy is jumping. “said Hariyadi.

The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, previously extended the Large Scale Transitional Social Restrictions (PSBB) to start from 9 to 22 November 2020. However, if the case is under control, the Transitional PSBB will continue from 23 November to December 6, 2020.

“In the event that there is no significant increase in new cases of covid-19 during the extension of the transitional PSBB, according to the results of the monitoring and evaluation of the working group for the management of Covid-19 at the provincial level, stipulating an extension of the implementation of the transitional PSBB for 14 days from November 23, 2020 to December 6, 2020 “

This is a measure to anticipate an increase in COVID-19 cases. The extension of the PSBB for the Transitional Period is based on the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 1100 of 2020 on the transitional PSBB in DKI.
