jpnn.com, JAKARTA – President Joko Widodo reprimanded several ministers and heads of institutions in a closed-door meeting to discuss the report of the Committee for the Management of Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (16 / 11) in the morning.
Among them are the TNI commander, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, the head of the National Police, General Idham Azis, the head of the National Agency for Disaster Management, Doni Monardo, and the Minister of the Interior.
The man who is familiarly called Jokowi stated that the safety of people amid the Covid-19 pandemic is currently the strictest law. Therefore, the disciplinary application of health protocols must be carried out firmly.
“I want to emphasize that the safety of the people is the highest law. During this pandemic, we have decided to impose social restrictions, including dispersal of the crowd,” Jokowi said.
Jokowi explained that the application of the discipline of the health protocol must be carried out because currently no one has immunity to the Corona virus and can infect others in the crowd.
Jokowi ordered the Chief of the National Police, the Commander of TNI and the Chairman of the Covid-19 Management Working Group to take firm action when parties violate the restrictions set out above.
“Therefore, it should not be just an appeal, but should be followed by concrete monitoring and enforcement on the ground,” he said.
Currently, public confidence in government efforts is needed for pandemic control measures to work effectively.
