Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

President of the Brotherhood of Alumni (PA) 212Bernard Abdul Jabbar said he still plans to hold a 212 Meeting in accordance with health protocols at the National Monument (Monas) on December 2.

This was in response to the leader of the Buntet Boarding School Cirebon, West Java, Adib Rofiuddin Izza, who expected the PA 212 meeting plan to be postponed.

“God willing, we will meet, but keeping the health protocols, yes and God willing, because the time is December 2. That is why we continue every year. [menggelar] on December 2, “said Bernard CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (11/16).

Bernard said his party is looking for other alternatives if the DKI Jakarta provincial government does not allow Monas to be used for meetings. The 212 meeting agenda is known to take place routinely in the Monas area every year.

He estimates that there will not be as many people attending the 212 meeting in previous years so the health protocols are maintained.

“That is why we continue to look for other alternative places that God wants. If, for example, Monas can obtain a permit, we will do so in Monas. If not, we will look for other alternatives,” added Bernard.

However, Bernard regrets that the DKI Jakarta provincial government does not allow the 212 meeting this year. He compared it to the implementation of the 2020 simultaneous regional elections to be held on December 9.

“If the meeting of 212 is not allowed, why is pilkada allowed? The gathering of people as well. If it is not allowed, the average is fair. Pilkada should not be allowed either,” Bernard said.

Previously, PA 212 planned to hold a 212 meeting in Monas following the return of the High Priest of the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI) Rizieq Shihab to Indonesia.

Although DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said that until now his party had not given permission because the Monas area had not been opened during the transitional implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB).

The transitional PSBB will remain in effect until November 28. The application of this PSBB can be automatically extended until December 6, 2020 if the positive cases of Covid-19 continue to increase.

Meanwhile, Adib Roifuddin Izza, director of Ponpes Buntet, suggested that the meeting plan be postponed to avoid potential crowds that might arise.
