FPI leader Habib Rizieq Syihab could be fined 100 million rupees if he re-organizes crowd-causing events. FPI’s lawyer, Aziz Yanuar, said Habib Rizieq would respect the decision.

“We respect the decision of the Provincial Government of DKI in this matter,” Aziz said when contacted on Sunday (11/15/2020).

He said that FPI had no objection to the rule. Aziz said that Habib Rizieq would follow these rules.

“We respect, we follow the rules,” he said.

It was previously known that the activities of the Prophet’s birthday wedding celebrated by Habib Rizieq on Saturday night (11/14) were in the spotlight because they caused crowds and did not pay attention to health protocols during the pandemic. The event that took place in the Petamburan area violated the COVID-19 health protocol. This activity did not limit the number of guests, causing a crowd. It does not conform to the following two rules:

1. Regulation of the Governor of the Province of DKI Jakarta Number 79 of 2020 on the implementation of discipline and compliance with the health protocols law as efforts to prevent and control Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
2. Regulation of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province Number 80 of 2020 on the implementation of large-scale social restrictions during the transition period towards a healthy, safe and productive society.

As a result, Habib Rizieq received a 50 million IDR fine from the DKI provincial government for violating COVID-19 regulations. The COVID-19 Management Working Group appreciates the decision of the DKI Jakarta provincial government to impose a fine of Rs 50 crore on Habib Rizieq Syihab. The fine is threatened to double if a similar crowd repeats.

“Governor Anies has sent a team led by Kasatpol PP to impose an administrative fine of 50 million rupees on the organizing committee of the event. This fine is the highest fine and, if repeated in the future, according to Governor Anies, the fine will double to Rp. 100 million, “said the head of the COVID-19 Management Working Group, Doni Monardo, in a press conference on YouTube BNPB, on Sunday (11/15).
