Jakarta –
DPP FPI President Slamet Ma’rif reacted when multiple crowds at various events held by FPI leader Habib Rizieq Syihab were considered to have concerned the public. Slamet defended himself by stating that the Prophet Muhammad SAW’s birthday ceremony in Petamburan had received permission.
The crowd, which was thought to have disturbed the community, was initially revealed by the Chief of the National Police, General Idham Azis. Idham received reports that multiple crowds ignored the Covid-19 health protocol. Idham did not directly mention the issue of the crowd without health protocols causing discomfort for whom.
“First, we have coordinated with the villages and urban sub-districts, including the police, to maintain the COVID protocol so that we can still control it, we carry it out. And we have started to wash our hands, then to the disinfectant booths, we have installed them at various points and in front also the committee has distributed masks to the parishioners who were not wearing masks, including the police who have distributed masks there, “said Slamet at the FPI DPP, Jalan Petamburan III, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (11/14/2020).
Slamet said the event committee would also provide instructions to the attending congregation to keep their distance. Slamet said his group did everything possible so that health protocols could be implemented at the event site.
“Then before the event, the committee will give instructions to keep the distance, to sit between them to keep the distance. So we will try to implement the COVID protocol as much as possible,” said PA 212 president.
Slamet relayed that if the congregation came more and more, it was possible that Jalan KS Tubun would shut down completely. Because, Slamet said, every time the Prophet’s birthday commemoration was celebrated, the road was closed because there were many congregations present.
“Looking at the condition later, if the congregation turns out to be bloated, it will definitely shut down completely (Jalan KS Tubun) so they can keep their distance. But usually every year the congregation closes itself,” he added.
Habib Rizieq announced that he would marry his fourth daughter, Syarifah Najwa Syihab, to Sayid Irfan Alaidrus. The wedding will take place in conjunction with the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday which will take place on Saturday (11/14) evening.
