A convoy of trucks and vehicles carrying Russian soldiers appeared to have entered the area following a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Russia has deployed nearly 2,000 soldiers along with tanks and other armored vehicles to secure a ceasefire agreed to this week after six weeks of war in the ethnic Armenian enclave of Azerbaijan.
The scale of the war’s devastation became clear on Friday in Nagorno-Karabakh. The situation also showed the desperation of the Armenian army in that war. (Read also: Russia-Turkey finally agreed to cooperate in controlling the Nagorno-Karabakh ceasefire)
A Russian troop, accompanied by Reuters journalists from the border with Armenia, passed around a hundred bodies of ethnic Armenian soldiers scattered along the road. (See infographic: China finally congratulates Biden and Harris)

Cars, shrapnel and pickup trucks were strewn along the side of the road, as well as a burning tank and other damaged military vehicles.
