GenPI.co – The market for candidates to replace National Police Chief Idham Azis is heating up. Several names have been said to be the number one person in the police force.

Rumors are being heard more and more that Idham will retire at the end of January 2021.

The president of the Indonesian Police Watch (IPW) Presidium Neta S Pane predicts there will be major mutations within the Police.

According to Neta, there are two general inspectors (irjen) in the National Police who will be promoted to general commissioners (commander).

“Officers who have risen to three stars will certainly be included in the market for police chief candidates to replace Idham Azis,” Neta said on Thursday (11/12).

He added that there are 30 generals who will retire before the succession of the Chief of the National Police in January 2021.

Neta explained that the high-ranking officers (pati) of the National Police were made up of three commanders-in-chief, eight inspectors general and 19 brigjen.
