KOMPAS.com – Petronas Yamaha SRT rider Franco Morbidelli managed to be the fastest in the Valencia MotoGP qualifying session.
The Valencia MotoGP classification was held at the Ricardo Tomo Circuit, on Saturday (11/14/2020) in the WIB afternoon.
At the Valencia MotoGP race on Sunday (11/15/2020), Morbidelli will be joined by Jack Miller (Pramac Ducati) and Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda) on the front grill.
This is Morbidelli’s second pole position in his career in the MotoGP category.
Finally, Morbidelli became a pole sitter in the 2020 MotoGP de Catalunya.
On the other hand, the leader of the 2020 MotoGP riders standings, Joan Mir (Suzuki Ecstar) will start the race from the bottom to be precise 12th.

Valencia MotoGP qualifying begins with session Q1.
Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT) and Valentino Rossi (Monster Energy Yamaha) are included in the list of riders who must start qualifying for Valencia MotoGP from Q1.
Valentino Rossi became the last rider to enter the track when the Q1 session began. The Italian driver only entered the track when Q1 had been running for about two minutes.
After all the riders completed a lap, Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) became the fastest rider with a record time of 1 minute 31.502 seconds.
Binder is still fastest after the five-minute Q1 session, followed by Quartararo and Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda).

The Q1 session was forced to be temporarily suspended in the 7th minute after Alex Márquez (Repsol Honda) suffered an accident at the top while crossing into Turn 11.
The accident caused another 10 cyclists to enter the pits while Alex Márquez received immediate treatment.
After Q1 continued, the top three positions were unchanged, namely Binder, Quartararao and Crutchlow.
Until the end of the Q1 session, no rider has managed to beat the record time of Binder and Quartararo.
Brad Binder and Quartararo finally qualify for Q2 to compete with 10 other riders for Valencia MotoGP pole position.

After five minutes into the Q2 session, Franco Morbidelli (Petronas Yamaha SRT) took the lead with a record time of 1 minute 31,124 seconds.
In less than a minute, Morbidelli’s record time was beaten by his teammate, Fabio Quartararo.
On the other hand, the leader of the MotoGP rider’s classification, Joan Mir (Suzuki Ecstar) is scattered in the ninth position.
After seven minutes, Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Tech3) took the lead after marking 1 minute 30.819 seconds.
The timeline was later overtaken by Oliveira’s teammate Brad Binder with five minutes remaining for the Q2 session.
At that time, Brad Binder successfully recorded a lap time of 1 minute 30.763 seconds.
The first three positions with four minutes to go to Q2 are occupied by Binder, Oliveira and Quartararo.
In Q2 with three minutes remaining, Maverick Vinales (Monster Energy Yamaha) took the lead with a time of 1 minute 30.645 seconds.
That note didn’t last long because Mordbidelli was able to produce a lap time of 1 minute 30.191 seconds.
Until the end of Q2, Morbidelli managed to maintain the record time to qualify for pole position in the Valencia MotoGP race.
