Another witness, Mohammed Belmaziz, said that amid the chaos and screaming, he saw a person with his face covered in blood.
At least four people were reportedly injured, namely a Greek policeman, a British citizen and a Saudi policeman who suffered minor injuries. Meanwhile, another person who has not been identified but was reported to be in a panic and covered in blood.

“The (Saudi) security service will launch an investigation into the assault incident at an event attended by several consulates in Jeddah,” Al-Ekhbariya state television reported.
In addition to condemning the attack, the embassy also praised the preparation of the Saudis who assisted them on the spot. The European delegation in Saudi Arabia also thanked the Saudi emergency services and urged local authorities to carry out a “swift and thorough investigation” of the attack.
Earlier, the French embassy in Riyadh had urged citizens in Saudi Arabia to exercise “extreme vigilance” since the stabbing incident at the French consulate in Jeddah on Thursday (10/29).
The incident occurred on the same day that a man armed with a knife killed three people at the Notre Dame Basilica Church in Nice, southern France.
The explosion at the commemoration of the First World War on Wednesday (11/11) also marked a series of terror that occurred in Jeddah.
The recent attacks come as soon as French President Emmanuel Macron infuriated most Muslim-majority countries.
Macron has come under fire for defending the reissue of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad and a number of other controversial statements.
In addition to echoing the condemnation, several countries have also called for a boycott of products made in France on social media.
