JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The DKI Jakarta provincial government has currently not allowed the National Monument (Monas) area to be used for various activities, including the 212 Alumni Brotherhood (PA) gathering.
The head of the Jakarta National and Political Unity Agency (Kesbangpol), Taufan Bakri, said that until now the Monas area could not be opened.
This is because Jakarta is still implementing large-scale transitional social restrictions (PSBB).

“As far as I know, we are still PSBB, right? Monas is closed and another Kota Tua is still closed,” Taufan told Kompas.com, Thursday (12/11/2020).
Taufan admitted that he had not received any other orders regarding the event.
However, the provincial government of DKI Jakarta has received a letter requesting permission to use the Monas area from PA 212.

“We receive letters everywhere. But if they are answered, we don’t know when,” Taufan said.
PA 212 President Slamet Ma’arif previously said that the PA 212 meeting was planned to take place in the Monas area, because the 2016 action also took place there.
Therefore, PA 212 has no plans to use another location and still intends to hold a meeting in the Monas area, as in previous events.
“In fact, every year in Monas. (Action) 212 in 2016 also happened in Monas, cooking in Ancol the reunion,” Slamet said.
According to him, PA 212 has submitted a permit to use the Monas area to hold an annual meeting to the provincial government of DKI Jakarta.
The letter was sent three months ago and is still awaiting a response from the DKI Jakarta provincial government.
“(The application for the permit) was already three months ago,” Slamet said.
