DPR RI includes a list of alcoholic beverages whose production, storage and consumption will be prohibited in the Bill Alcoholic drinks (RUU Minol).
It is forbidden to divide the alcoholic beverages that will be threatened into five classifications. This rule is contained in article 4, paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) of the Minol bill.
First, there are category A alcoholic beverages with an ethanol content of 1 to 5 percent. Then Category B is alcoholic beverages that have an ethanol content of 5 to 20 percent. While beverages with 20-55 percent ethanol fall into category C.

Articles 5, 6 and 7 of the Minol Bill prohibit the production, storage, distribution, sale and consumption of all types of alcoholic beverages, except as provided in Article 8.
Although article 8 contains provisions, alcoholic beverages are allowed for purposes of customs, religious rituals, tourists, pharmacies and places allowed by legal regulations.
“The prohibitions mentioned in article 5, article 6 and article 7 do not apply to limited interests”, reads article 8, paragraph 1.
Anyone who violates the provisions of the bill is subject to a series of criminal penalties. The punishment ranges from 3 months to 10 years in prison and fines from IDR 20 million to IDR 1 billion.
The draft law on alcoholic beverages was proposed by several council members, one of whom was Illiza Sa’aduddin Djamal from the PPP faction. Illiza said that the prohibition of alcoholic beverages was mandated by the 1945 Constitution and religious teachings.
“The bill aims to protect the public from negative impacts, create order and peace in society against alcohol consumption,” Illiza told CNNIndonesia.com, Wednesday (11/11).
