jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Former TNI Commander General (Retired) Gatot Nurmantyo rejected President Joko Widodo’s award at the State Palace in central Jakarta on Wednesday (10/11).
Gatot laid out a number of reasons for rejecting the president’s award, including those related to TNI.
“Perhaps the content includes, among other things, that he did not agree with the condition of Covid-19 and had to pay attention to TNI, in his letter like this. It is his right,” said the head of the Presidential Secretariat, Heru Budi Hartono, to be confirmed.
Heru explained that Gatot had delivered a letter to the man who was familiarly called Jokowi.
Regarding the details of the letter, Heru admitted that the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, would explain further.
“What is clear is that the country gives, fulfills its duties, the obligation to give former ministers the high position that should be given to them,” he said.
“It is processed in the Honorary Title Council, there is a Special Council and it has been implemented,” Heru concluded. (tan / jpnn)
