While picking up the garbage, Risma had a discussion with the protesting workers who complained about their demands regarding the Omnibus Job Creation Law. However, the police apparatus managed to reduce tension.
Carrying an empty plastic bag, Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini arrived at the site of a student worker demonstration that held a people’s no-confidence vote festival in front of the Grahadi State Building, Surabaya, on Tuesday night.
Risma then picked up trash from the protesters who were scattered amid the ongoing action.
Later, several protesters protested against Risma in relation to the Job Creation Law.
Risma also had a discussion with the protesting workers and said that his party had sent the workers’ demands directly to the central government.
After collecting garbage from the protesters in sacks, Risma left the scene of the action.
Risma said she wanted to help facilitate the clean-up task of the workers who cleaned up the trash from the protests until late at night.
