TRIBUN MEDAN.COM, MEDAN – The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) finally officially detained the regent of North Labuhanbatu (Labura), Kharuddin Syah aka Buyung.
Kharuddin Syah was named a suspect in alleged corruption related to the management of the 2017 APBN-P Special Assignment Fund (DAK) and the 2018 APBN for the North Labuanbatu Regency.
In addition to Buyung, KPK investigators also named another suspect, Puji Suhartono, as a private party. Puji is the Deputy General Treasurer of PPP for the period 2016-2019.
“Yes, it is true that he (Labura Buyung Regent) has been detained,” KPK Acting Spokesperson (Plt) Ali Fikri said via WhatsApp during a press conference on Tuesday (11/10/2020 ).

He said that this arrest was made in connection with the further development of the investigation into allegations of corruption in the management of DAK APBN-P 2017 and APBN 2018 for North Labuhanbatu Regency.
“This case is a development of the alleged bribery case related to the regional financial balance funds proposed in the Revised State Budget for Fiscal Year 2018 that began with the OTT on Friday, May 4, 2018 in Jakarta,” he said.
For his actions, Buyung is suspected of violating article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or article 5 paragraph (1) letter b or article 13 of Law Number 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Crimes of Corruption as amended by the Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with article 55 paragraph (1) 1st KUHP.

Previously, during the OTT on May 4, 2018, the KPK earned 400 million rupees.
