JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Banten Regional Police managed to arrest the fake honey maker on Tuesday (4/11/2020).
By selling fake honey, the perpetrator makes a turnover of Rs 600 million on one production.
“They can (get a turnover) of 600 million rupees for one production,” explained Subdit Indag 1 head Ditreskrimsus Polda Banten AKBP Doffie Fahlevi, when they found him at the place of the perpetrator’s arrest in the Joglo area, Kembangan, West Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/10/2020).
For information, the fake honey produced by the suspect with the initials TM (35) has the basic ingredients of a mixture of glucose, fructose and molasses.
Molasses itself is an animal feed mix that is dangerous if consumed by humans.

Doffie said that after being investigated, it turned out that the honey produced by TM did not contain real honey.
“Many Banten residents have stomach aches after drinking this honey,” said Doffie.
For a bottle of fake honey, TM sold it for IDR 25,000.
The honey is produced in a rented house in the Joglo, Kembangan, West Jakarta area.
In the house, the police found five fake honey drums that were later seized as evidence.
According to Doffie’s statement, TM worked with two other people who had been arrested at different locations.
To be held accountable for his actions, TM was threatened with a five-year prison term.
