Upon arriving at the FPI headquarters, Rizieq delivers a speech in front of his supporters

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Islamic Defenders Front leader Rizieq Shihab arrives at the Islamic Defenders Front Headquarters, in Petamburan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/10/2020).

Before entering the FPI headquarters, which is also his residence, Rizieq gave a speech to a mass of supporters.

Rizieq expressed his gratitude for returning to Indonesia. He also revealed his reasons for returning home after being in Saudi Arabia for two years.

“I came home because I wanted to meet the Muslims in Indonesia and I wanted to fight together,” Rizieq said.

In his speech he also called for a moral revolution.

“Join the moral revolution to save the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.

After that short speech, Rizieq invited his supporters to pray. One of his prayers is that the Covid-19 corona virus can immediately disappear from Indonesia. Furthermore, he also prayed for the lying leaders to be destroyed.

According to Kompas.com’s observation at the scene, Rizieq’s presence was enthusiastically welcomed by supporters.

They are overcrowded and cannot maintain physical distance as a protocol. Some supporters also did not wear masks.

Rizieq returned to Indonesia on a Saudi Airlines plane with flight number SV816. Rizieq flew in from Saudi Arabia on Monday at 7:30 p.m. local time.

Rizieq landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Terminal 3 on November 10, 2020 around 09:00 WIB.

Rizieq went to Saudi Arabia in 2017. At the time, the police were investigating his case for allegations of pornographic messages. The police have stopped the investigation of the case (SP3) on that case.

Rizieq previously stated that he was banned by the government of Saudi Arabia at the request of the Indonesian government so that he could not return. However, the Indonesian Government denies this.
