Tottenham Hotspur managed to beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 in the eighth week of the Premier League. These results solidify the Spurs who always beat their opponents at home this season.

At Hawthorne Stadium on Sunday (8/11/2020), José Mourinho’s squad managed to bring home three points to London thanks to Harry Kane’s header in the 88th minute.

These results mean that Tottenham has accumulated 17 points so far. Exceptionally, most of the points were earned by playing away games. Of the four games played by The Lilywhites, they always win.

In addition to West Brom, there are Southampton (5-2), Manchester United (6-1) and Burnley (1-0) whom they managed to beat. This is in stark contrast to seeing the results at home. Tottenham have only won once in 4 games, the rest have drawn (twice) and lost.

This condition was made by Mourinho. But he didn’t bother. The Portuguese coach is really happy that his team can take advantage of the away games to cover the poor results at home.

“The important thing for us is to score three points. Three consecutive victories in the Premier League for the first time this season, and by winning 12 points away from home, we managed to cover the loss of points at home,” Mourinho was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

“From two 1-0 away victories at Burnley and West Brom, you could say that it is impossible to always be beautiful, win 2-4 goals and play smoothly. You have to prevent your goals from conceding in difficult matches.”

“You need this attitude because we really try to score goals, try everything, and also play against a well-organized team. When we can score a goal with 6 or 7 minutes to go, it’s time to keep fighting and give it our all.”

“I am very proud of our accumulation of points so far. I am happy that I did well away from home to make up lost points at home, which should not have happened. But in the end I am happy with the current conditions,” he explained.
