Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

The plan for the return of the leader of the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI) Muhammad Rizieq Shihab was peppered with a series of controversies. One of them is the fact that Rizieq’s return to Indonesia was due to his being on the Saudi government’s deportation list.

This was expressed by the Indonesian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Agus Maftuh Abegebriel. Agus’s statement also denied Rizieq’s claim, which claimed that he returned to Indonesia after Saudi Arabia extended his visa and after local authorities rejected his application for an exit permit, or ‘bayan safar’.

In fact, according to Agus, Rizieq’s name was included in the ‘tasjil murahhal’ or list of people who were deported in Saudi Arabia’s immigration computer system.

“My advice to MRS (Muhammad Rizieq Shihab): There is no need to be ashamed of the state of the Saudi immigration computer system,” Agus said in a written statement to CNNIndonesia.com on Friday (11/6).

Agus also denied Rizieq’s claims regarding the visa extension. According to him, what exists is a change in the period of stay or ‘intiha’ al-iqamah ‘until November 11, while the effective date of the Rizieq visa remains July 20, 2018.

Not only that, Rizieq is also included in the record breaking list of immigration law. Rizieq’s identity was recorded on the list, starting with name, type of violation, number of deportee, types of documents and others.

“Obviously the MRS on this second screen is labeled as a ‘mukhalif’ of lawbreakers and this will not go away,” he added.

Furthermore, Agus also mentioned that there are two sensitive columns categorized as disgrace. He decided not to reveal it to the public, because he felt it was not beautiful.

The PKB politician said that Rizieq was only granted a residence permit until November 11, 2020. The deadline began on November 2 when Rizieq visited the Syumaisi Deportation Office to handle the administration of his return.

Before the deadline passed, Rizieq announced the time of his return to Indonesia. It will fly from Jeddah on November 9 with Saudi Airlines flight SV 816 and will arrive in Indonesia the day after or on November 10.

Call Jokowi an illegal president

Agus also stated that during his stay in Saudi Arabia, Rizieq often called President Joko Widodo illegal. In fact, his Saudi colleagues also regretted Rizieq’s statement.

“In fact, the MRS has often used inappropriate rulings from the holy city of Mecca when calling President Jokowi an illegal president,” Agus said.

“We are often asked by Saudi colleagues that they regret how Indonesian citizens call their head of state ‘rais ghair syar’iyyin’, an illegal president,” he continued.

Misinterpreted Stay Documents

While broadcasting the announcement of his plan to return to Indonesia some time ago, Rizieq said he would sue an Indonesian official who stated that he was involved in an expired or expired permit to stay in Saudi Arabia.

Rizieq claims that he returned to Indonesia because his visa was extended by the Saudi government.

Agus, as Indonesian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, only laughed at Rizieq’s statement and said that the Grand Imam of the FPI had misunderstood the texts of the document.

“Hahahaha … This is funny and strange, the result of misinterpreting the text of the document or the language of the santri ‘al-inhiraf fi fahmi nusus al-watsiqah’ deviated in understanding the text of the document,” he said.

From the outset, Rizieq was deemed to have misread the first screen of Saudi Arabia’s immigration computer system containing information on migrants or ‘ma’lumat za’ir’.

He then traced Rizieq’s chronology back to Saudi Arabia based on the five immigration sheets obtained after contacting the Royal Saudi Arabia Immigration Office. Agus explained that Rizieq initially entered Saudi Arabia twice on an Umrah visa, namely on April 26, 2017 and on May 14, 2017.

So Rizieq had left Saudi Arabia, but not Indonesia. Rizieq last returned to Saudi Arabia on a business visit visa or ‘ta’syirah ziyarah tijariyah’ on June 9, 2017.

The visa has a validity period of 365 days and expires on July 20, 2018. Agus explained, in the first screen of the Saudi immigration computer system, there was no Rizieq visa extension, there was a change in the period of stay until November 11th.

Therefore, Agus asked Rizieq to be more careful when reading the document word for word. However, Agus understands that Rizieq still does not understand consularism, including immigration to Saudi Arabia.

“So, as a result, he issued threats that he would sue the person who crossed him over,” Agus said.

“Whoever labels the most stay or ‘mutakhallif ziyarah’ beyond the limit of stay is the Saudi immigration system. Please protest to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” he added.
