The Executive Committee of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (WE), Ahmad Yani, denied that his party was related to the Masyumi Party. Yani is known to participate in the Masyumi Party statement at the Da’wah Council building in central Jakarta on Saturday (July 11).

“We cannot link it, because WE are a moral and intellectual movement. We cannot link (Masyumi) to the US,” Yani told CNNIndonesia.com on Friday (11/6).

Yani emphasized that WE never discuss practical political issues. He made sure WE stayed in the corridor of national moral policy.


“In the United States, I am not talking about practical politics. We are talking about moral politics,” he said.

Yani previously explained that there would be a statement from the Masyumi Party. The party’s declaration coincided with the 75th anniversary of the Maskhumi Party, founded in 1945.

In the statement, your party will announce the names of the members of the Syuro Council of the Masyumi Party.

At least more than 50 figures of ulama background, intellectuals and activists are willing to join the Syuro Masyumi Council.

The Syuro Council will be the supreme decision-making structure of the party and has the right to have a general president.

Some of the names who became candidates for the Syuro Council of the Masyumi Party, namely the former adviser to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Abdullah Hehamahua, the former Minister of Forestry MS Kaban, Wasekjen MUI Tengku Zulkarnain, cultural scientist Ridwan Saidi, to Kiai Abdul Rosyid Syafei.

Taufik Hidayat, secretary of the Islamic Ideological Party’s Preparatory Investigative Efforts (BPU-PPII), said Masyumi’s resurgence was based on a longing for Islamic ideological parties like the Masyumi Party in the past.

He said that the parties behind Masyumi this time felt that there were very few political parties with good ideological policies and the integrity of their politicians.
