Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
The Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, has already mentioned Joe biden as the “president-elect” of the United States after the presidential candidate led a series of vote counts in several states that are still running.
“This morning it is clear that Biden-Harris will win the White House,” Pelosi told reporters after Biden took over Pennsylvania in the recount of state elections.
“President-elect Biden has a strong mandate to lead,” said the Democratic politician.
“This is a happy day for our country. Joe Biden is a unifier, because he is determined to bring people together,” continued Pelosi.
Pennsylvania, with a quota of 20 electoral votes, is one of the key countries to win the 2020 US presidential election.
Biden, who currently has 253 electoral votes, only needs at least 17 additional electoral votes to reach a winning mark of 270.
Not just for Biden. Pennsylvania is also Donald Trump’s hope of catching up with his opponent and adding 213 electoral votes that he currently has.
But keep in mind that there are still five states so far, namely Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina that are still included in the vote count projection.
Trump, who now has 213 electoral votes, has so far led the way in Alaska and North Carolina. While Biden temporarily led in Arizona, Georgia and Nevada.
Meanwhile, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said he plans to recap the ballots for the 2020 U.S. presidential election in the region.
“With a very small margin, there will be a tally in Georgia,” Raffensperger told the media team on Friday (11/6).
Georgia was previously defeated by Donald Trump’s Joe Biden. Both are fighting for the votes of the state that has 16 electoral votes.
According to data from The New York Times, Biden obtained 49.4 percent of the votes or the equivalent of 2,450,144, and Trump obtained 49.4 percent or the equivalent of 2,448,558 votes.
In other words, Biden is just 1,586 votes ahead of Trump.
Raffensperger said the results of the state’s presidential election were “too short to decide.”
